Yeah, pretty scary, but hey! nowadays everything can be fashionable...I mean, where before you could say "this is kitschy" / "this is cool" / "this is beautiful" / "this is horrible", now you can't really put your finger on it anymore. I guess the fine line between kitsch and luxury is getting blurrier and blurrier by the day :)
